Disc golf clubs and local groups play a major part in helping people find the sport, meet other players and take part regularly.
Across England, organised activity takes many forms. Some communities have established clubs with committees and regular events. Others run informal leagues, weekly meet-ups or activities around a local course.
EDGA wants to build stronger communication with these groups and learn directly from the people organising disc golf in their communities.
We have launched a short register-of-interest form for established clubs, informal groups, leagues, course communities and volunteers who are starting or developing a club.
This is an early listening step. It gives organisers a way to tell us what they are doing, what challenges they face and what support could help.
The responses will help EDGA understand where organised disc golf is taking place and how clubs and groups currently operate. They will also help us identify common needs, such as guidance for volunteers, practical templates, communication support, links with local organisations and help developing sustainable activity.
This information will inform work on EDGA’s developing club directory, future support resources and possible affiliation proposals. We want these plans to reflect real experience from clubs and organisers rather than assumptions made without their input.
The form also includes an option to express interest in a proposed WhatsApp group for club representatives. The group could provide a direct channel for EDGA updates, questions and feedback, while giving organisers a place to share experience with each other. We will confirm how it would operate before adding anyone.
Registering interest does not mean that your club or group has applied for affiliation. It does not provide EDGA approval or accreditation, confirm a place in the club directory, or commit your group to joining any future scheme.
At this stage, EDGA is gathering information and inviting clubs and organisers to take part in the discussion. The details provided will help us decide what work should come next and where limited volunteer time can have the greatest practical benefit.
