Governance of the English Disc Golf Association

This page explains how the English Disc Golf Association (EDGA) is governed and how decisions are made on behalf of members.

EDGA follows good practice for sports governance. The aim is clear decision making, published records, and transparent elections for Board roles.

Governance update and member vote

EDGA members have voted in favour of moving the English Disc Golf Association to a Company Limited by Guarantee.

The Board is now completing the formal registration process, including Companies House filing, director identity verification, and the setup of the new company structure.

  • Members have approved the transition to a Company Limited by Guarantee
  • The Companies House registration process is now underway
  • The new structure will introduce formal Articles of Association
  • This completes the next stage of the transition approved by members in 2024
  • Further updates will be published once registration is complete

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is where members receive reports, review accounts, ask questions, and vote on elections and motions that shape the direction of Disc Golf England.

Information about future and recent meetings is published on the AGM page once dates and papers are confirmed.

Improving governance

EDGA is moving from its historic BDGA structure towards a more modern model that meets current expectations for sport governance in England. This includes clearer policies, stronger safeguarding, better data on participation, and more regular communication with members.

Updates on these changes will be shared through news and official updates and in reports to the AGM.
