Following the conclusion of our online member ballot on Sunday evening, the votes have been tallied and verified. We are delighted to announce the election results and our new competitions team structure.
The English Disc Golf Association (EDGA) Board is pleased to confirm that Paul Waite has been elected as the new Director of Competitions.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce that Jade Botes has accepted an invitation to join the EDGA board team as a volunteer. Rather than stepping back after the vote, Jade will work alongside Paul and the board, lending their insight, experience, and energy to support competitive disc golf across the country.

Looking Ahead: 2027 Competitions Roadmap
With the competitions leadership now established, work begins immediately on setting the foundations for the 2027 season. Key priorities include:
- 2027 Tour Calendar: Establishing and confirming the national tournament schedule in good time to avoid calendar clashes and enable early player planning.
- Tournament Director Support: Providing practical toolkits, sanctioning assistance, and scoring platform support for local organisers and host clubs.
- Event Standards & Tiering: Refining event criteria to ensure consistent player experience, clear divisional requirements, and fair rating distribution.
- Participation Growth: Supporting TD mentoring, junior development opportunities, and accessible tee layouts to encourage female, junior, and new amateur competitors.
Election Verification & Turnout
The election was conducted via Helios Voting, providing a cryptographically verifiable, confidential, and audited ballot for all eligible voting members. The voting window closed at 23:59 BST on Sunday 27 September 2026, and the tally was decrypted in accordance with EDGA election rules.
