Community and participation
This page describes how the English Disc Golf Association (EDGA) supports community activity and participation across Disc Golf England. It links to work on juniors, women and girls, seniors, para disc golf, and community programmes.
Juniors
Junior players are central to the future of disc golf. EDGA supports juniors through guidance for clubs and schools, work with parents and carers, and links to safe introductory formats.
Practical information for schools and youth groups is developed alongside the Schools and Coaching pages, and supported by the Safeguarding policy.
Women and girls
Increasing participation among women and girls is a clear priority. This includes work with clubs on welcoming formats, divisions that feel realistic, and visible role models in media and events.
Good practice from clubs and leagues will be highlighted through News and official updates and Blog posts.
Seniors
Disc golf offers a practical way for older players to stay active and connected. EDGA encourages age protected divisions, social formats, and events that make it realistic for seniors to travel and take part.
Clubs that want to develop activity for seniors can find ideas in the Club support resources and share experiences through the usual contact routes.
Para disc golf
Para disc golf is an important area of growth. EDGA aims to work with players, clubs, and partners to understand barriers, improve course access, and support formats that work for different needs.
As this work develops, information will be added here and signposted through News and official updates.
Programmes and projects
Community programmes may include local outreach projects, work with schools and colleges, partnerships with other organisations, or pilots in new regions. Many of these programmes will be led by clubs and volunteers, with EDGA providing guidance, connections, and practical support where possible.
Updates on programmes will appear in News and official updates and on the Volunteering page when specific roles are available.
